The Sponsoring Committee
The Kennebec Valley Organization Sponsoring Committee (KVOSC) was formed in May 2003, after years of discussions and relationship building at the statewide and local levels, by leaders from institutions committed to building a faith- and values-based organization of religious congregations, union locals, community and small business groups in the Valley that will bring people together to work on issues of shared concern, such as saving, strengthening, and creating good jobs, accessible health care, affordable housing, and other critical resources.
With the creation of the Kennebec Valley Organization (KVO) on November 6, 2005, the work of the Sponsoring Committee was completed. However, almost all of the local sponsors have chosen to become founding members of KVO, and KVO will continue to work closely with its regional sponsors.
